Work of organization: As a Christian missions and development agency, I.N. Network walks alongside communities of need, empowering them to build futures of hope and purpose for their families. We believe in using the resources God has blessed us with to establish progress and change in communities in both the developed and developing world. And we believe in partnership - partnership that encourages the oppressed, feeds the hungry and cares for the sick. Dignity comes when people have real choices.
Kinds of internships: Working alongside the executive director and assisting in day-to-day operations. A major focus here is to help develop our reps and office staff with individual business plans so that they can generate growth. Also working with major donors in an effort to increase funding. An internship would also include specific research projects such as developing methodology for proposals for funding from foundations etc. Another major priority of my current role is to establish a "new" way of partnership with those that we fund. We take great pride at IN in the fact that we work with strong indigenous leaders and that we let them call the shots, whilst saying we are just there to come alongside them and help facilitate the amazing ministries that they do.
However the reality of a relationship where countries like Canada, the UK and Australia give resources to countries like Ghana, Colombia and Sri lanka always has this inherant colonial feel to it. I do not know the answer to creating a truly equal partnership, but I'm commited to working towards that goal. The intern could play a key role in this by stepping back a little and studying the dynamics of the working relationship with our partners. It would be an interesting exercise to write a report on that as part of the overall program.

We believe the Bible to be the inspired, infallible, authoritative word of God.
We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons - Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, and in His personal return to power and glory.
We believe that for the salvation of the lost and sinful man, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost, they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
We believe in the spiritual unity of Believers in Christ.
