Work of organization: The Primate's World Relief and Development Fund (PWRDF) is the Anglican Church of Canada's agency for sustainable development, relief, refugees and global justice. With the support of Anglican parishes across Canada, PWRDF makes financial and human resources available to support partners' initiatives and to promote knowledgeable actions of solidarity at home and around the world.

Kinds of internships: Interns will work on a variety of tasks at the PWRDF office. The internship allows the intern to increase their awareness of global concerns; further their commitment to the gospel call to love your neighbor as yourself; and to work to achieve learning goals agreed to by the intern and the organization.

Desirable skills: Interns will need good computer skills and familiarity with the web, strong communication skills, an understanding of global issues leading to the ability to create and develop educational materials and the ability to work independently towards their goals.

Number of internships: 2 annually

Location of internships: Toronto

Duration of internships: For May-August 2014, PWRDF will not be offering an internship. Check back for the September-December period.

Costs: PWRDF provides a transit pass and pays for travel to and accommodation at work-related events during the internship.

Accommodation: N/A.

Insurance: PWRDF provides travel medical insurance in the case of international travel. PWRDF does not provide insurance for baggage or personal property.

Medical coverage: PWRDF does not have a medical insurance plan for short term placements. Travel medical insurance is purchased by PWRDF through the travel agent for the duration of possible international travel.

Training: No formal training is provided, although orientation and training is arranged as per the needs of the intern.

Evaluation: A written report by the intern at the end of the internship, and potentially other evaluation as required by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA).

Volunteering: Volunteer opportunities exist within PWRDF and JustGeneration (the Youth Initiative of PWRDF) in a broad range of roles.

Contract: Interns are required to agree and adhere to the Sexual Misconduct Policy applicable to national staff and volunteers of the Anglican Church of Canada. Interns are not required to sign a written employment contract with the Anglican Church of Canada.
