2007-2008 Centre for Lay Education Course Calendar
Wycliffe College's newly launched Centre for Lay Education broadens the reach of the Diploma in Lay Ministry program and provides even greater opportunities for lay people to explore and be equipped for ministry - in the church, in the workplace and in the community.
As ever, students will be awarded a Diploma in Lay Ministry upon completion of 6 full credits. However, students will now have a second pathway option for completing the Diploma in Lay Ministry - one that has a greater emphasis on courses for practical ministry. This new pathway includes a new course called Communications for Ministry Leaders that will focus on lay-leadership skills within a ministry context. Anyone who has ever been asked to chair a meeting or group, or has ever led a church-based project or program will find this course invaluable. Details of this second pathway can be found here.
There are no academic prerequisites for any courses in the Centre for Lay Education, and students need not be working to complete the Diploma in Lay Ministry in order to participate. Students are free to take one course or many - and at any time, if a student decides to complete the entire Diploma in Lay Ministry, all completed courses will be counted towards Diploma completion.
