Wednesday June 1st, 2011
TST has announced that Rachel Tulloch (B.A. Guelph, M.T.S. Wycliffe/Toronto, Th.D. cand. Wycliffe/Toronto) is the recipient of this years Margaret E. Fleck Scholarship, for academic excellence and demonstrated ability to communicate to the wider community.
This award, funded by a gift of the Ralph M. Barford Foundation along with matching funds from the Ontario Trust for Student Support (OTSS) and from the University of Toronto, was established by the Board of Trustees in 2006 in honour of the Reverend Margaret Fleck, a divinity graduate of Trinity College and former member of the TST Board of Trustees.
Rachel has achieved an exceptionally strong academic record. Her current focus of academic research is suffering as a theological hermeneutic, which she is pursuing in her doctoral studies in the theological department. She is also an outreach pastor and theologian-in-residence at Sanctuary, a Christian community whose core is people who are poor, homeless, and marginalized in downtown Toronto.
