Principal George Sumner celebrated the Eucharist at St. Matthew’s Kingfisher Lake and spoke at the Gospel Jamboree in honour of the late Rev. Dr. William Winter, who founded the school for ministry in that Oji-Cree community in northern Ontario. At the invitation of Archbishop David Ashdown of Keewatin, he also had a chance to meet with Bishop Lydia Mamakwa and the lay and ordained leaders in the community. He discussed with the leadership ways to support the efforts there, in particular online resources for northern indigenous communities such as theirs.
