Wycliffe Announces Honourary Degree Recipients for 2013 Convocation

Wycliffe College will hold its annual Convocation on Monday May 13, 2013, at 4:00 p.m. in Convocation Hall, University of Toronto. We are pleased to announce our honourary degree recipients to be honoured this year.
Jenn Harold has had a distinguished career with World Vision, which has encompassed a number of areas of their work. She has worked in the field in the Congo and Sierra Leone in challenging times. She has worked in global sponsorship efforts as well as microfinancing. She has combined technical expertise and inter-personal skills in a way which is exemplary for development work in general. In addition she was a trailblazer in helping the Wycliffe College Master of Theological Studies in Urban and International Development get off the ground. She will receive the Doctor of Sacred Letters.
R.A. Dickey, knuckleball master and pitcher with the Toronto Blue Jays, has lived out his evangelical faith in inspiring ways. He has given of his time, substance, and profile to the issue of anti-human trafficking (including a fund-raising climb of Mt. Kilimanjaro). His honesty and candour have helped to bring attention, understanding, and compassion to the issue of abuse. He also will receive a Doctor of Sacred Letters degree.
The Rt. Rev. Dr. Grant LeMarquand is the suffragan Anglican bishop of Egypt, with responsibility for the Horn of Africa, which includes Somalia, Eritrea, and Djibouti. His work also involves being the Chair of the board of the Alexandria School of Theology. He has a Th.D. in New Testament from Wycliffe. He taught for a number of years at Trinity School for Ministry in Ambridge, PA. His writings include work in African Christian hermeneutics. Grant is a native of Montreal. He shares his missionary work with his wife Wendy, a doctor. He will receive a Doctor of Divinity.
Wycliffe will also be confirming the following degrees: Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.), Doctor of Theology (Th.D.), Master of Theology (Th.M), Master of Divinity (M.Div.), Master of Theological Studies in Urban and International Development (MTS), Master of Theological Studies (MTS), Certificate in Anglican Studies, and Diploma in Christian Studies (Dip.C.S.).
