On Friday March 15th, 2013, Archdeacon Robert Philip Dann, returned to his Lord.
A graduate of Wycliffe College, Class of 1940, Bob was ordained deacon that same year. He served as an Anglican priest in the Dioceses of Toronto, Fredericton and Huron and ministered in over 30 parishes in his lifetime. Bob was a remarkable man, a gifted pastor, a loving husband and father. For his Christian witness, leadership and contributions to the Christian world, he received an Honorary Doctorate of Divinity in 1961. He and his wife Suzanne, were made Fellows of the College for their committed advocacy for Wycliffe in 2009. In his memoirs, The Tide of Time, Bob’s describes that while his bishop wanted him to attend another seminary, Bob’s choice would be Wycliffe because “(the bishop’s) eleven Wycliffe clergy were the backbone of his diocese”. There are many incredible and humorous stories in these memoirs, but what prevails is Bob’s great personal faith and deep humility before God. We will miss him.
