Wycliffe College at the University of Toronto is seeking an experienced accounting professional to oversee responsibilities in the accounting office.
This individual will report to the Business Director and will provide support to the Wycliffe College Audit & Finance Committee.
Process accounts payable, including verification, approval, reimbursement etc.
Handle accounts receivable of all kinds (student fees, donations, rentals, etc.)
Payroll management including Worker’s Compensation Reports, tax forms, etc.
Manage student and resident accounts
Handle other accounting procedures
Posting transactions to the GL using software (ACCPAC)
Monthly trial balances, financial statements
Trust fund reporting
Prepare year-end financial statements prior to audit
Provide HR support
Administer pension and group benefit plan program and continuing education plan
Advise staff and faculty concerning changes or options in regard to pension and group benefit plans
Prepare ROE reports for departing staff or faculty
Provide leadership, expertise, and advice to the Business Director’s Office and other departments on a range of accounting activities.
Specific Knowledge and Skills
Work experience in bookkeeping and accounting
Superior proficiency in working with accounting software (ACCPAC an asset)
Must be able to effectively work with senior level management.
Good interpersonal communication, change management and analytical skills.
Knowledge and proficiency in working with Word, and with Excel spreadsheets.
University degree, college diploma, or professional qualification in accounting
Experience in an accounting workplace setting
Demonstrated experience working with web-based accounting management
Demonstrated ability to work both in a team environment as well as independently
Experience in working in Christian and/or non-profit environment an asset and a comfort level working in faith-based organization is required.
