Letter from the Principal concerning Fall 2020 SemesterDear Wycliffe College Community, It has been some weeks since my last up-date. Even as spring and summer session classes proceed online with strong enrolments, we know that students are looking ahead to the Fall semester and wondering what form their studies may take. In the hope of addressing such questions and alleviating concerns, I am writing to provide current and prospective students with information and reassurance. Date Published: Tuesday, May 5, 2020 |

Giving thanks for the life of Donald Hugh BessellBy Peter Patterson Hugh Bessell, as he was known at Wycliffe, proved to be a wonderful addition to the Board of Directors when he joined in November 2000. Besides his considerable financial qualifications and experience, Hugh brought wisdom, good judgement, and a strong commitment to his faith. He participated willingly at any Board event at the College, and carefully scheduled his own travels to not interfere with his attendance at Board meetings each month. Faculty Sermons on Exodus - Winter 2017This Winter term the faculty preached on portions of the Book of Exodus. It is a form of liturgical preaching. Portions of the book were selected to reflect the two seasons of the church year we will be in this academic term, Epiphany and Lent. Thus, during the season of Epiphany faculty preached on portions of Exodus having to do with ways God was manifest to Israel. During Lent faculty preached on portions of the book which follow Israel in the wilderness. |

Songs of Scripture - Faculty Sermons - Fall 2016On Thursday mornings at Wycliffe it is customary for the faculty to preach in a series that goes through the term. Sometimes we preach on a given book of Scripture, like Jeremiah; sometimes it is on some key aspect of the Christian life, like vocation. This term, we will be preaching on the biblical “canticles”, that is, on those parts of Scripture we know to be songs: the Song of Moses at the Red Sea in Exodus 15, the so-called “Magnificat” or Song of Mary from Luke, and so on. |
