Pastoral Letter from Principal Stephen AndrewsDear Friends, In what seems to be an epidemic of scandal in the Church, we were grieved to learn that Mark MacDonald has given up his post as National Indigenous Anglican Archbishop and has relinquished the exercise of ordained ministry on account of acknowledged sexual misconduct. Mark is a graduate of this College and a friend to many of us, and he has been a vital part of our teaching and mission. This news is shocking and heartbreaking on many levels. Faculty Sermons on Exodus - Winter 2017This Winter term the faculty preached on portions of the Book of Exodus. It is a form of liturgical preaching. Portions of the book were selected to reflect the two seasons of the church year we will be in this academic term, Epiphany and Lent. Thus, during the season of Epiphany faculty preached on portions of Exodus having to do with ways God was manifest to Israel. During Lent faculty preached on portions of the book which follow Israel in the wilderness. |

Songs of Scripture - Faculty Sermons - Fall 2016On Thursday mornings at Wycliffe it is customary for the faculty to preach in a series that goes through the term. Sometimes we preach on a given book of Scripture, like Jeremiah; sometimes it is on some key aspect of the Christian life, like vocation. This term, we will be preaching on the biblical “canticles”, that is, on those parts of Scripture we know to be songs: the Song of Moses at the Red Sea in Exodus 15, the so-called “Magnificat” or Song of Mary from Luke, and so on. |
