Drawing upon 30 years of urban ministry and education, Mark will share some of his most recent insights into urban ministry. For Mark, ministry in the city begins with how we see, hear, taste, smell and touch the city. Our afternoon will be devoted to reflecting together on how this might affect our approach to ministry in the city and how it impacts our discernment.

The Word Made Global: The Changing Shape of Christianity and its Implications for Urban Ministry
Context: A public event directed at urban ministry practitioners, denominational leaders, pastors, lay people, students. Noting that the urban church is most vital amongst immigrant communities predominantly from the Global South (Asia, Africa, Latin America), Gornik has researched and written on the changing shape of urban Christianity in the cities of North America.
