Alumni Awards
Each year, the Wycliffe College Alumni Association recognizes individuals who have enlarged the kingdom of God through their faithful and diligent service.
Honorary Alumnus
This distinction recognizes members of the College and Church community at large for their contributions to Wycliffe College, the community, and/or the Church.
The Alumni Association Honorary Alumnus for 2025 is presented to Dr Terry LeBlanc.
Terry has served in full time vocational ministry with the Native North American community since 1978. Approachable, honest, and deeply respected, Dr Terry LeBlanc has helped foster a healthier, multicultural church community. He pioneered a training initiative - NAITTS: An Indigenous Learning Community - that has gained the respect of seminaries globally, becoming the only ATS-accredited Indigenous- designed, developed, delivered and governed graduate and post-graduate school of theological studies at that time. He is currently Director Emeritus of NAITTS.
He has received three fellowships, a PhD from Asbury Theological Seminary, and honorary Doctor of Divinity degrees from Acadia University (2015) and Knox College (2019).
A notable figure among evangelicals, he serves as a cultural ambassador to the non-Indigenous church, advancing a deeper, more faithful understanding of the gospel across cultural lines. Terry is admired for his commitment to reconciliation and for encouraging the Church to reflect critically on its missionary heritage.

The Archdeacon Harry St. Clair Hilchey Alumni Award
This award is presented each year to one Alumnus of Wycliffe College who has distinguished themselves in service to the Alumni Association, Wycliffe College and/or the Church.
The Archdeacon Harry St. Clair Hilchey Alumni Award for Distinguished Service for 2024 – 2025 is presented to The Rev. Canon James Robinson who graduated from Wycliffe College with a Master of Divinity in 1986.
The Rev. Canon James Robinson was raised in southern Alberta, baptized in St. Augustine’s, Lethbridge, and confirmed in St. Peter’s, Calgary. Undergraduate studies at the University of Lethbridge, and Middlesex University in London, England, led to a professional acting career in England and Canada. A growing sense of call to ordained ministry culminated in an MDiv from Wycliffe College (where he served as Senior Student in 1985), ordination to the diaconate (1980) and then to the priesthood (1987). Since then, he has served in parish ministry, all in the Diocese of Calgary: St. Peter’s, Calgary (1986 – 1990), St. John’s, Olds and St. Cuthbert and St. Geroge’s, Sundre (1990 – 1997), and St. Augustine’s Lethbridge (1997 – 2020).
James has served in numerous diocesan and national Church bodies, including the Council of General Synod for two three-year terms. He was named Canon of the Diocese of Calgary in 2006. A ministry highlight for James was an opportunity to serve as interim chaplain at Wycliffe for the fall 2014 term. He retired from active ministry on June 1, 2020, and currently serves as Rector Emeritus at St. Augustine’s.
Throughout the years, James has enjoyed singing in parish and community choirs and performing in community theatre. He is married to Judith, a professional actress and teacher, and their daughter, Rachel, is an editor.
