Core courses (6):

  • Introduction to Anglican Studies (WYT2505H)
  • Anglican Liturgics (WYP2118H) or The History, Theology, & Practise of Anglican Liturgy (TSJ2401H )
  • Theological Integration Seminar (WYF3010H)*
  • Basics of Preaching (WYP2301H)
  • Boundaries & Bridges Care of Self, Care of Others (WYP1501H)
  • Pastoral Leadership & Ministry (WYF3030H)*

*Includes field placement of 8-10 hours/week

Electives: 2, chosen from the following areas (1000-3000 level): Evangelism, Reformation Studies, Sacramental Theology, Homiletics 

Eligibility: Bachelor’s degree (any discipline) from a recognized college, with a minimum CGPA of 2.7 (70%); MDiv or MTS from another institution.

Note: This certificate is for students with a theological graduate degree from another denomination who are preparing for ministry or ordination in the Anglican Church.

English proficiency: Students who have not completed a previous degree in English must demonstrate proficiency through a recognized language exam.  See details here.

The Certificate in Anglican Studies includes in-person components due to the specialized nature of its coursework. Students should plan spend a minimum of one semester in Toronto.

Typically, students who complete a Certificate in Anglican Studies subsequently pursue ordination in the Anglican Church.
