Ajit John

Interim Chaplain

A mentor and spiritual director, the Reverend Ajit John is a pastoral resource to students, ordinands, faculty, and staff. He is also known to many as a former Wycliffe College Board member, a trustee of the Toronto School of Theology Board, and as the current Chair of the Anglican Communion Alliance. He has been a priest in the Anglican Church of Canada for nearly twenty years, serving congregations both here in Toronto and the Diocese of Europe. After completing a BA and an MA at the University of Toronto, he studied law at the University of Western Ontario. Ajit practiced law in Toronto for nearly 45 years, spending thirty-five of those years with the Law Society of Upper Canada, including six years as an adjudicator with the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario.  

He undertook theological training both at Wycliffe College and at Nashotah House, from which he received a Master of Sacred Theology (STM) in 2003. Ajit was made an Associate Alumni of the College in 2022. He also holds an LLM in Canon Law from Cardiff University.
